Finds of the Day: Vanilla Scented Candles
Vanilla comes from a type of orchid from Mexico. for a long time it could not be cultivated anywhere else as its pollination depended on a local
bee, once it was discovered that vanilla can be pollinated by hand, it has been cultivated successfully in other places. Vanilla is the second most expensive spice after saffron and has been used in cooking especially in cakes and ice-cream, it is also used to make perfumes. As many other plants it is also said to have medicinal properties: vanilla is supposed to lower fevers and is also believed to be an aphrodisiac. It is often used in aromatherapy so do not be surprised if there are so many vanilla candles! Like cinnamon this is a candle that you want to eat.

And if you really want to eat a candle I suggest you eat the Creamy Vanilla Scented Candle that you can find on the Village Candle website, the ice cream in the picture does not help at all, it makes e go straight to the freezer. Otherwise a candle that you want to drink, the French Vanilla Candle from Fragrance.net, this is a candle with vanilla blended with honey in a glass. I know, I know. Or something a bit more fruity, have a look at Trish’s Wild Blueberry Vanilla Scented Candle.
And do not forget this lovely Vanilla Scented Coconut Macaroon Scented candle, it looks great too with its little brown ribbon as you can see from the photo. As candles are
often given as gifts their look is not to be neglected although you do want quality too. You might be interested in a Flameless Vanilla Scented Candle, an interesting option if you have children and pets. For something quite traditional there is a collection of French Vanilla Yankee Candles in a variety of sizes. Because we also like cakes and not just candles we must try the Cinnamon and Vanilla Candle, forget aromatherapy it is time to bake a cake! One of the good things about Vanilla is that you can have it on its own but also in so many different combinations. Therefore do not be too surprised to find a Vanilla Chai Tea Candle, again in a jar.
If you are one of those people who prefer natural material you will certainly like a Vanilla Ice Cream Soy Wax Candle, soy candles are a relatively
new invention, they have been on the market for only 15 years but they are proving to be very successful, they certainly do not have the unpleasant fumes and soot typical of paraffin wax candles. Another soy candles that would be ideal for a special treat or a present is Vanilla Cupcake.
Watch out though: Legally you can say that a candle is genuine soy candle even if it contains only 25% soy wax and the rest paraffin wax, if you really want a natural product in your home, read the small print!
In case you prefer beeswax candles, here we have a large pillar candle scented with Tahitian vanilla
which is very affordable for a pure beeswax candle. If you prefer Madagascar vanilla here a Large Queen Bee Vanilla Scented Candle
